rydeEV expands micromobility solutions with rechargeable CERVO e-bike
rydeEV, the electric micromobility business of Yinson GreenTech (YGT), today announced the upcoming launch of the new rydeEV CERVO at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. CERVO, the first DC fast charging e-bike in rydeEV’s product lineup, is manufactured in Indonesia with a European design. The CERVO will present Malaysian consumers with a new luxury lifestyle option featuring higher top speed (100 km/h) and a longer range of 110 km, complementing rydeEV’s diverse portfolio that includes the existing battery-swapping models, RYDER and HYPER, launched in September 2023. This expanded product lineup will offer Malaysian consumers a broader range of choices to suit their unique riding lifestyles.
Motorcycles are ubiquitous in Malaysia, with over 660,000 units sold in 2023. However, electric variants account for less than 3% of the total sales1. To support electrification in the micromobility segment, rydeEV understands the importance of providing products and services tailored to meet the demands of different consumer and business needs. The CERVO aims to be the top choice for discerning EV enthusiasts who enjoy the thrill of leisure rides on weekends, with features such as Boost Mode for effortless acceleration to up to 114 km/h, onboard fast charging alongside home charging options, and full LED lighting for enhanced visibility on the roads. A TFT LCD screen keeps riders informed, while the reverse mode ensures smooth manoeuvring in tight spaces. The integrated bag holder and large 14-inch tyres for various terrains further add to the appeal of the CERVO.
“The addition of the CERVO to the rydeEV lineup underscores our commitment to revolutionising urban mobility through bringing the latest technologies and the most exciting electric two-wheeler models to Malaysia,” said Syed Faiz, Managing Director of rydeEV. “The feature-rich e-bike, combined with rydeEV’s existing range and user-centric approach, will empower riders to make a sustainable choice without compromising on performance or convenience.”
To support the growth of electric two-wheelers in Malaysia, YGT’s chargEV will progressively roll out dedicated charging stations and facilities for e-bikes such as CERVO.
The CERVO will be available from the third quarter of 2024 through full purchase or lease-to-own financing programmes. Additionally, customers will be able to enjoy the RM2,400 rebate offered by the government under the current Electric Motorcycle Use Promotion Scheme2.
